BILSTEIN B4 air suspension modules for Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7
Active air suspension modules provide damping, suspension and level control in a single component. The revolutionary design thus achieves a high spread between high driving dynamics and outstanding driving comfort. In the meantime, modern air suspension technology has also arrived in the workshops.
However, there are still occasional fears of contact when air suspension modules are to be replaced. These, however, are unfounded – if a few tips and tricks for installing our BILSTEIN B4 air suspension modules are heeded. This also applies to the assembly of our air suspension modules for the Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7.
As with any assembly of air suspension modules, you should check the flawless condition of the air suspension modules, their compatibility with the vehicle, the expiration date and, if available, the minimum dimensions specified in the assembly instructions before starting work. And please always make sure that air suspension modules are only replaced in pairs per axle. In the further course of the work, you should follow our installation instructions step by step.
You should pay particular attention to these three points when installing the BILSTEIN B4 air suspension modules for the Porsche Cayenne, Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7:
Positioning of the compressed-air-tube on the rear axle:
Make absolutely sure to pay attention to the correct positioning of the compressed-air-tube specified in the installation instructions: This must not be installed too low in the tire pressure retaining valve! In addition, it must not be bended, twisted or compressed.
Tire pressure retaining valve:
When installing the new air suspension module, observe the manufacturer’s instructions when tightening the nut of the tire pressure retaining valve. In addition, the tire pressure retaining valve must be carefully “countered” – for example with special tools or in case of emergency with pliers. Make sure that the cutting ring and the union nut are also replaced. Also observe the correct positioning of the pressure retention valve.
Lower the vehicle:
A recurring assembly error occurs just when the installation has almost been completed: The vehicle must never be completely released from the lifting device with unpressurised air suspension, not even with minimal residual pressure, otherwise the modules – and in the worst case even further suspension components – are immediately destroyed.
