With the increasing use of Advanced Driver Assisting Systems (ADAS) and sensors the streets are supposed to be safer but with this background it is significant to calibrate these assistance systems and sensors after a repair or an exchange of windscreens to be calibrated correctly. This is the only way they will be able to add to more safety in traffic.
With the update 1.28.0 of the W.EASY multibrand WABCOWÜRTH Workshop Services GmbH (WABCOWÜRTH) reacted to the newest version of LPOS by Volvo. In order for the calibration of the vehicle control units to work properly, the system coverage has been extended. That also applies for buses.
In addition to that WABCOWÜRTH has succeeded to completely calibrate the lane departure warning system statically with the two latest updates of the W.EASY multibrand diagnosis system.
It is now possible to calibrate Volvo and Renault in combination with corresponding optical adjustment devices statically. In accordance with OE manufacturer specifications, reference panels are to be adjusted to the driving axle. Since WABCOWÜRTH comply to this with their solution, the only thing left was to add a diagnostic module. This is carried out with the new version of W.EASY. Consequently, in the future there will be no dynamic calibration rides necessary with these two brands mentioned and car glass shops are able to perform the calibration under safe and secure circumstances with documentation of the calibration.
WABCOWÜRTH is further expanding their multibrand competence for car glass repairs. In the future, it will be possible to calibrate and document 4 of 7 commercial vehicles statically.
The brands of these vehicles are MAN, Scania, Volvo and Renault. The current state of vehicle technology is that all the other models (IVEC’O, DAF, Mercedes) do not allow a static calibration. For these vehicles a calibration ride is necessary to get a diagnosis. Of course, this is also possible with W.EASY.
